What if you went into a fast food restaurant and fish is 2 for the price of 1?

you only wanted one fry fish, but, the waitress said that it is 2 for the price of one. There is only 3 fish sitting on the tray, which means, that it has been sitting there all day. I was surprised because this type of fish usually cost £3.50 and comes with nothing else. I then asked if it is fresh, and she started getting off and saying, that she hates it when people asks these kind of question. She just started rumbling on as if she had problems at home and wanted to take it out on me.

I just said i don't want it then, was i right or wrong in asking if the fry fish is fresh, because usually you don't get anything extra when you go to purchase a certain type of food? I have bought the same fish from that fast food restaurant for a few years, not regularly, but, every now and then.

no I do not think it was wrong.  Regardless if you're eating fast food or not, you want fresh food. I don't blame you.

2 for 1 means you pay for one and get two...if you only want one, just give the other to that homeless, hungry looking guy sitting on the curb ouside the place!

No, it was not wrong to expect it to be prepared fresh. I know that a lot of fast food places put things under a warmer during busy times to keep food moving, but to see it obviously sitting out and not kept fresh is not ok. You have to pay for it, you should feel like you are getting what you want. As for the waitress- she was rude and shoud not be in customer service if she does not want to be questioned. Hope you find somewhere to have your fried fish, because I would never go back there again!! :)

I think you were sensible in asking if the fish was fresh, as that was the first thing that popped into my head as I read your question.

Fish can cause really nasty food poisoning and her rant just makes me wonder if she has something to hide!

Of course you were within your rights to ask if it was fresh, you should have reported her to management, she must have had an attitude !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
