  1. Make sure you are using enough lubricating drops on your eye and the lens before you insert it. It's common for one eye to be more dry than the other due to the tear production and size of your tear ducts, etc. If the problem persists I'd suggest you see an optometrist at the time of day when the problem is usually present so you can show him how your eye is reacting.

  2. Mine do that all the time, and I've worn contacts for about 1-2 years now. It's normal...your eye is a wet surface. The contact being 'clamped' onto the grooves of the cornea makes a tight fit...and doesn't allow 100% air flow to the cornea itself. More modern contacts are better at allowing oxygen flow...but in general, it is because something was on your eye and it is now taken out of it.

Thus leaving a sort of 'dry/irritated' spot from where your eye was used to the contact being there - but when you took it off, the eye is a little sensitive underneath. This should go away within a half of an hour of taking the contact out. I get this all of the time. Sometimes blood shot eyes if I have had my contacts in all day, itchy eyes, etc.
