  1. Crime

  2. Diverse cultures impact not only American society, but its culture as a collective as well.  We do not have the same culture as people in England or Australia do, but because of the diverse cultures spread throughout the United States, there are many impacts, both good and bad.

From all of those other cultures all over the world, the United States was formed, from Asian immigrants who came to here on the California side, to the Indo-European ones who came to the East side.  With all of these people, the United States has become known as a "Melting Pot."  So, hopefully with this, we can believe and live just as I quote here:

"…whence came all these people? They are a mixture of English, Scotch, Irish, French, Dutch, Germans, and Swedes... What, then, is the American, this new man? He is neither a European nor the descendant of a European; hence that strange mixture of blood, which you will find in no other country. I could point out to you a family whose grandfather was an Englishman, whose wife was Dutch, whose son married a French woman, and whose present four sons have now four wives of different nations. He is an American, who, leaving behind him all his ancient prejudices and manners, receives new ones from the new mode of life he has embraced, the new government he obeys, and the new rank he holds. . . . The Americans were once scattered all over Europe; here they are incorporated into one of the finest systems of population which has ever appeared." − J. Hector St. John de Crevecoeur, Letters from an American Farmer.

That was back from 1782, now could it not be said the same of Americans now?  Simply add in Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Kenyan, Egyptian, Russian, and various other countries.

With this meld, we have our own problems, inbred racism, crimes that seem more prevalent in certain cultures (embezzlement and mass murder being more prevalent among white people, a single-victim killer is more likely to be black, etc.) are among the worst things that any culture here has brought.  Among the best, are people who with access to our resources, have discovered and done things they might not have been able to do were they still sequestered in their own nation, contributions to the collective society of America.

  3. You have a global question here that needs to be specified.

You have to look at a particular group of newcomers to America

in each of may different time frames.  When they had the greatest

flow into to America? What happened in the second generation of

the group? Did the "cultural group" create an impact upon the overall

    culture of America?

You have a very complex problem the way that you are approaching

this issue.  Best pull back and choose a particular  group that interests you and look at the cultural elements that they brought to

America and how/what (over time) has been the impact of the group.

  4. They place a heavy burden on the taxpayers with rampant crime, free medical care, housing, foodstamps, the dumbing down of our schools and they breed like rabbits.

  5. American society IS a diverse culture because we are made up of (with the exception of native-americans), we are made up entirely of immigrants.  If your white, you came from a European immigrant.  People from all over the world live here, and no matter where they are from, once they become a citizen, they are American.  Therefore, there is no single 'culture' that you can call American.  We are all and we are one.
