  5. oooooh man, I'm soooo glad I found this question!!!

My husband and I are farmers, and I can promise you this one thing - the farmer is the ORIGINAL conservationist.  If he/she doesn't take care of the land, it will not take care of them.  We work very very hard to stop soil erosion and do everything we can to prevent future erosion by using terraces, ground covers, etc.  We plant a crop of pine trees to prevent wind erosion.  (By the way, Pine trees ARE a crop, too.)

A smart farmer will have a variety of crops to protect the soil from becoming depleted.  Crop rotation is a science when done correctly.  We FEED the soil in the most economically conservative ways possible.  It's a matter of survival for the small family farm.  Chicken litter, cow manure, the BEST fertilizers and ALL NATURAL.  Stinky, but organic.

The chemicals we use on our farm are highly regulated and we are required to use them correctly.   Which we do!  We have grandchildren, and we want to leave them a healthy world!!!

Let me remind anyone who reads this that we need to protect the farmland in the USA.  Whoever controls the food supply, controls the world.

And as for wildlife disturbance???  Deer LOVE soybeans, cotton, wheat, milo, etc etc etc/  Housing developments disturb wildlife..........
