  1. Definitely on my pocketbook if the government intiates a carbon tax. I also think the media makes mountains out of mole hills.

  2. Whoever thinks the effects of global warming will take 20 years to see, think again...and lay off the drugs.  We've been seeing the signs already and still sit complacently, greedily by and even have the audacity to ask for more drilling of more fossil fuels rather than dumping everything we've got into alternative energy like wind, solar or even hydro electric.

Ask the people in Iowa about global warming.  I'm sure they've got something to say.

  3. The only impact will be financial.  Nothing else has happened or is going to happen.  It's a scam.  There may be one other minor impact: the alarmists are going crazy over it! Lol!

  4. I just watched the show "6 degrees" I had DVR'd a couple of months ago

    .. .. ..

And wow talk about a nasty place to live

    .. .. ..

Earth would be in the top 8 of them in our solar system

    .. .. ..

The whole eco system would go deep six

    .. . ..

Trees would kind of burn alive the reefs on planet earth would good deep six

    .. .. ..

The topic zones would become h**l on earth

    .. . ...

The meaning of the big flood as told of in the bible would kind of become not all that crazy

    ... . ...

And us people would be on of the last ones left alive eating anything that would fit in between the teeth no matter what it was

    .. . ..

Kind of like the TV show "Fear Factor" life on earth would become

    .. .. ..

And the pittiful thing is - - - - Mankind don't give a c**p - -  - - because Mankind has to make money first before anything else is taken as being important

    .. .. ..

In only ONLY 50 years the whole of the planet will not be nothing like it was when the computers were suppose to go deep south in Y 2-K remember that fear time

    .. . ..

Well you and I will see the effects of it with in the next 20 years when food will not be enough to feed all the people all the time on the planet and it will get worse and worse

    .. . ..

-- AND WE WILL SEE IT HAPPEN --

    .. .. ..

Where did they say church was maybe I better start going again

    .. . ..

Going to need all the help - I - that is ME - can get

    .. . ..

  5. I'll stick to things that have already happened/are happening rather than forecasts as your question is in the present tense!

1 - People living in low lying islands are losing their homes

The inhabitants of Carteret Island, PNG, have had to leave their homes becoming the worlds first global warming refugees (http://www.irinnews.org/Report.aspx?Repo... Many other islanders are smilarly threatened and have started to move, including 500,000 people on Bhola Island, Bangladesh (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/con...

Kiribati, Maldives, Tuvalu, Marshall Islands, etc are also affected.

2 - Conflict & violence over changing (shrinking) resources

The Darfur conflict is partly caused by the spread of the Sahara desert due to GW (http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/articl...

NATO is expanding its role due to concerns over GW (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24946052/)

3 - Climate change reducing food and water security

Tens of thousands have died due to lack of water (http://www.irinnews.org/InDepthMain.aspx...

Food riots broke out all over the globe in the past few months (http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/20...

4 - Changing climates have affected food production

Especially in Africa but also in the US (flooding), Bangladesh (salination) & Australia (drought):

    http://www.irinnews.org/Report.aspx?Repo...

    http://www.irinnews.org/Report.aspx?Repo...

    http://www.irinnews.org/Report.aspx?Repo...

    http://www.irinnews.org/Report.aspx?Repo...

    http://www.wwf.org.au/publications/droug...

5 - Disease vectors (e.g. mosquitoes), bacteria and fungi are spreading to new areas where people have little immunity or experience in battling the diseases including dengue fever (no cure!) reached epidemic proportions in the last year, spreading to many new areas:

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15717706/

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/con...

    http://www.climatehotmap.org/camerica.ht...

    and malaria - http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/200...

Plus numerous financial impacts as governments spend tax money on alternate energy sources, subsidise fuel and/or food, build flood barriers, the loss of livestock and crops to severe weather, etc...

    That should do for today!

    EDIT

I know that's already a lot but I forgot the peoples of the north - the Inuit and the Sami - who are both facing 'extinction' as a culture due to GW:(http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/20... http://www.independent.co.uk/environment...

    And to davem:

Hundreds of thousands of people are dying needlessly (150,000 as a direct result of GW according to the World Health Organisation - http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/2... and millions are homeless.

Given all the above citations and facts, how can you possibly say "Nothing has happened"!? Do you deny that there is a war in Darfur? Or that Carteret is habitable? This is incredibly cruel, heartless and selfish...
