What (in any) are the side effects of bifidus regularis in yogurt?

It makes the yogurt nasty and unappealing.

Before, it was a semisolid glob. After, it was a curdled-looking, semisolid glob with the consistency of day-old blood. All slippery but dry at the same time.

It will help with your digestive system.  All the probiotics will.  Not sure why you are looking at that one particular one.  I will say, the best yogurt on the market is Total Yogurt by Fage.  It is a Greek yogurt and is so much better than the rest!
