Question:

What in the heck does this weird (and at the time, quite disturbing) dream mean!?

O.K., here's the dream that I am trying to understand :

I was with my father on the grounds of a federal prison, and we involved in some sort of subcontracting work (which has absolutely nothing to do with anything in my real life!). The rules at the prison were very strict, and I could see a few of the overweight prison guards walking around with rifles in their hands, somewhat joking with one another. My vehicle (a brown 1985 Chevy Astro van) was parked on a loading dock that was located at the bottom of a steep driveway at the bottom of a hill next to a dumpster.

Then, a single-file line of prisoners marched down the long driveway to the dumpster, and the prisoners were carrying their empty lunch trays in order to turn them back in. On each tray, there was a dead capybara (a southamerican rodent) about the size of a housecat. My father told me that we had to pry open the mouths of the dead capybaras in order to remove a dead rat that each animal had eaten.

I accidentally threw the first one away, and my father told me how we had to pry open the stiff jaws of the dead capybaras and remove a dead rat from each of their mouths. I was thoroughly disgusted, and I told my father that I could not remove the dead rats from the mouths of the dead capybaras because I would throw up. He said, “Oh great, that means I’ve got to do this all by myself.” I offered to help him gather the trays and help him in different ways, but my father was still disgusted with me, and I felt a degree of guilt and shame for not being able to help him. Nevertheless, I knew that if I would have helped him pry open those dead capybara jaws in order to remove the rats, that I would have thrown up all day long.

  1. Are you always making excuses not to go out of your way to help those closest to you? Or maybe you feel that no matter what level of help you give to your father, or people in general, it`s never enough. It could also be about feeling inferior.

Those dead animals with rats are a disturbing mystery.

    What a weird dream.

  2. wow nice descriptions there

maybe it's a dream indicating your eagerness to become independent

  3. not sure

  4. I think this was not a dream, but it was a nightmare. Sometimes we are prone to think of something hard that is going to be happeneing to us. as we think of it more then we see that there are easier ways to cope with life events.lol

  5. Rats

To see rats in your dream, signifies feelings of doubts, guilt and/or envy. You are having unworthy thoughts that you are keeping to yourself but are eating you up inside.?Alternatively, it denotes repulsion. The dream may also be a pun on someone who is a rat.

To see a black rat, represents deceit and covert activities.?

To see a white rat in your dream, denotes that in your time of distress, you will receive assistance from an unexpected source.

To dream that a rat is biting your feet, symbolizes the rat race that you are experiencing in your waking life.

  6. ...well, this could mean that (you feel) the disagreement of opinions(be it now, or that may exist in the future) between you and your father is a wedge in your father-son relationship. And you know that you MUST choose between the relationship, or your "well-being"; (you KNOW that you'll hate your decision/definitely regret it in the future if you give in to him).

It seems that you'll choose the later, and so you want to salvage the bond; you compromise, but your father seems to be unappreciative of your initiatives, and instead, flick you off.

    Eh...sorry if i was off-track, though.
