ok so i noticed a rattle in my 10s and I had to find it. it was coming from inside the box. I took out the woofer it was coming from by unscrewing it. And i found a tiny tiny wire that was flapping around inside it making a buzzzzzing sound. I taped it down with electrical tape and it stopped. While out of the box. I screwed it back in and now it sounds HORRIBLE. I cant put nearly as much bass as there was and i have to play music really low to enjoy it. Im not a low music player someone please help if u know anything that i did wrong or shouldnt have done let me know what it was and what to do to fix it

  1. maybe you unplugged the wire to complete the series you were running.

  2. it might have been the voice coil wire

  3. it really depends on what the wire was for. did you disconnect anything and reconnect it wrong?

  4. Did you disconnect any of your wires while you had the sub out?  You may have connected them back up wrong.  Your subs may now be out of phase from each other.

  5. From what you've mentioned, i'm guessing that you have (DVC)dual voice coil speakers right. The sound you are hearing is that same wire hitting against the back of the woofer when the bass hits. What you might want to do is have yourself or one of your friends to soldier that tinsle back to its lead so that you will get the performance back that you were once getting. You might just be running off of one woofer. Try holding the opposite woofer still while the music is playing. if the other woofer is not moving then you need to get that woofer repaired. it's a simple process.I've had countless Kickers come to me for the same problem.  It' doesn't matter this time now that you've given this info. the tinsle has started to break lose and soon you will have to  either replace or repair. The tinsel has a bad spot on it.If you have enough tinsel to make a different connection, do it.It sound ripped because the tinsel is making small sparks from the bad connection. this would cause the tinsel to short out during play. Take the woofer back out and give it a little volume and you will see the sparks, i guarantee you that.
