What in the h**l was it?

Question

This morning while taking out the trash... I saw this really big rodent... It didnt look like a possum...I swear it looked like a mouse but bigger... I mean it was the size of a cat... it kinda scurried down this alley way across the street from my house.... Was it a rat...how big do the average rat get...?

Possibly a muskrat?  They are brown in color and have a tail similar to an opossum.

What you probably saw (too big to be a rat) was a Nutrea, looks part rat, part beaver, and inhabits the southern U.S for the last 50 years.  They were imported for some dum@ss pest eradication scheme and the Government scientists (like killer bees) lost control of them.

Well, when i went to france on holiday i saw this thing that sounds like what you are describing. i asked this french guy and he said its this really dangerous animal or something that eats dogs! i was like argh, iv forgotten what they are called though. but when i saw it, it was in the middle of the night and you say you saw it in the morning. =/ i dunno, it could have been a GIANT rat......

I have Sean some as big as cats. They are the rats that their flees carried the black death ,that almost wiped out the world. Be careful !!!!

I bet it was a Possum. They get that big here. Some are even biger then cats.
