lol its not true but still. when you see threatening youths with flatcaps on the street they are chavs. They like to centre around macdonalds and typically like bigmacs.

Chav stands for Council House And Violence, so I believe. It is a derogatory meaning for a badly behaved person, who displays anti social behaviour and frequently gets into trouble. Up here in Scotland, they are normally called "NEDs" (Non Educated Delinquents). They are often spotted with a bottle of cheap tonic wine, aka Buckfast in their hands lurking around shop corners. Their dress code may tend to be lots of big gold jewellery and tracksuits (stereotype Chav). They are annoying and I cant stand them!
