Marjoram is an herb that has much of the same flavor as oregano and, like oregano, is used a lot in Italian and other Mediterranean dishes.  It is very good with vegetables and soups.

I am a former chef and it is an herb from the oregano family, a bit milder and floral than oregano which is actually a wild cousin, it can be used in recipes in place of oregano, and goes well with poultry, pork, fish and stuffings even in salad dressing it is fine.

Its an herb.  If memory recalls, its rather aromatic, and is used in chicken dishes.
