nesting?

I came home from school today, and the entire house was like super clean and totally spotless. And I walked into our kitchen, and my mom kept rearranging the glasses and cups and plates...? and I was like, "What are you doing?" and she gets this confused look on her face was, "I have no idea... I just REALLY want to do this." Then I told my dad about it and he was like, "Aww she's nesting."

What IS that??

I was going to ask my dad but he was watching football, and you can't talk to him while he's watching football. Lol. So can someone here please explain that to me? Is that a bad thing?

  1. It's a phase pregnant women often go through right before giving birth.  For me it was getting new furniture, new carpet, and cleaning my house top to bottom!!

  2. ask your mom or your friends

    or go to Dictionary.com

  3. no its not a bad thing it just means that she will be having her baby soon.

  4. rolf..it's like a catch all term for women acting odd in pregnancy (no excuse the rest of the time see!), when you paint the house, or throw out all the old furniture for something else...it doesn't neccessarily stop after the birth either :D

oh fun ahead! treat her gently

  5. is your mom pregnant?.. bcuz if she is nesting is something that a woman goes through or experiences before she pops.

  6. No its not a bad thing, during pregnancy some women so through a time where they want to clean EVERYTHING and want everything perfect before the baby comes! It's normal.

  7. It means "being a good mother", it can be interpreted in more than one way. In that case, it doesn't sound bad, but how hurtful was it, if any, to her?

  8. ha its the term they use to refer to "getting the nest ready". like a dog before they go into labor you will see them running around and getting all sorts of objects to get their "nest" ready for their puppies. alot of pregnant women do it before their babies come they want everything to be clean, organized, and set up so they can relax before bringing a baby into the world
