  1. to get points, gain knowledge, help people....

  2. Whenever there is a ranking system there will be people willing to do anything to be number 1, then there are the people who like giving advice and making their opinion known.

There are people who will ask so many questions they will answer some just to get enough points to ask more. Plus i surmise that with getting higher levels there will be some kinds of privliges. Those are just some answers, im sure theres dozens more

  3. self satisfaction that you may have helped someone

  4. To help u fall asleep....

When u can't fall asleep, and u wonder what else u can do-give advice or ask questions.   Both will tire u out and hopefully u will fall asleep after.

  5. I do it to waste some time and to see what others are thinking.

The ones who are level 7 tend to do it for self satisfaction that they are correct or the best.    I did the math to figure out how much time they put in to get to that level.  It was two hours a day for a year.  It would be the same amount of time they would spend on other time wasting efforts.

I often vote for the answers that do not look like they were mass produced or i find funny.

I am not sure of the incentives, but it is nice to help with increasing their points.

  6. to genuinely provide help for those who need it.

  7. Not Much?!?!  :)

  8. who knows.

what i really want to know is why most of these people don't just use a search engine instead of posting their questions here.
