Weather is under at least for the government.  National Weather Service and NOAA.    Then they are private meteoroligists who do radio and TV and consultant work.

An on-camera meteorologist would be in the communications/broadcasting industry.  A navy meteorologist would be in the military.  A researching meteorologist would be in the education industry... so it all kind of depends on where you would work.

There are a number of industries that now employ and utilize meteorologists.

Government, Aviation, Broadcast, Energy, Forensic/Law, Marine, Military, Research... etc..
