I think someone has hired a P.I. to investigate me?!??

I am falsely accused of harassing someone on the internet, (trust me, I didnt' do it!) but what can a P.I. find out about me? Am I protected in anyway against this?

  1. there isn't much about you that cannot be obtained by paying for it.   Just check the websites and see what can be revealed about anyone if you are willing to pay for the service.  Their are many agencies that provide this info.....sorry...its the times of modern technology...

  2.     Pretty   much     every     little    intimate    detail    about     your    life      including    your     credit   score/   credit    report,    your    complete   criminal   history,    your    residences   for    the    last   five    years,     who   your    family    members     are    and    where    they    live,     any    traffic    violations     with    in     the    last    three   years      and    your     employment    history.     They   can    also      find      former    sexual   partners     and     other    people    with    whom    you    have    had   relations.

  3. almost everything you do on the internet is set in stone...somewhere

you would be surprised what they can find. though it depends on what exactly they're looking for, and how good they are.

  4. I very much doubt they spent the money on a PI.  It's probably just some punk kid needing a butt beating.

Professional Private Investigators can come up with everything, down to the name of your dog you had when you were 7.  Nothing is private.

  5. Someone hired a PI to investigate me too. They put me under surveillance, so I had idiots following me every so often. For the internet, I guess they could track things down, but usually they need to get a subpeona before getting acess to account info.  There are places online though that, for a fee, will give you a lot of info on anyone.

  6. Im in the same situation ur in although Im not going to disclose the details..one of their friends knew what state I was in but hey I guess I should have left my now ex's ex alone..I know she contacted the police but not sure what happened after that Im not gonna lie I will say this I spread a few rumors defamation..but then she did the same..But a PI can track your IP and contact you internet provider"AOL COMCAST etc.." and have your services terminated or have you sued depending on what you've done..nothing has happened to me yet and for the most part im over it I just kinda wish I knew how everything turned out or what the cops told her..Im so done with myspace and sorry men

  7. Sunshine, relax a bit.  I may be wrong but I think you have now asked four questions on the same subject within the past hour or so.  If you are that worried I suggest you get proper legal advice (not on YA) so you will stop getting your knickers in a knot.  I think you need to spend less time on your computer because it is causing you so much stress..
