My boyfriends wants to change his Honda 900 rr and buy a Suzuki gsxr 1000 but he doesn`t know to many people who rode on one.So we tried to find some opinions about the motorcycle on some forums but we didn`t find what we needed....so i turned to yahoo for help. Can someone who owned one or owns, or knows some that owns a gsxr1000 tell me his/hers opinion about it and some advantages that Suzuki has over Honda?or better yet just tell me what fascinated him/her about Suzuki gsxr1000....thanks

  1. For most average riders the bikes perform about the same but when they are ridden to the max or on the track the GSXR maybe has a little advantage in performance and handling, brakes but it is not enough difference where I would be selling and buying a different bike. GSXR's are known out on the track as the best all around bikes to buy but there is nothing wrong with the other j*p bikes especially Honda.

  2. I havent owned one yet but hope too one day, but i hope this link to a review helps a little.  There are 3 parts to it, it may not have all the info you require but it definately lets you know what the suzuki is like from a riders point of view.  : )

  3. Hardly noticeable differences here. Curve killin depends on the set up. Looking at these two bikes stock they'd both perform just about equally.

There's a rumor that Honda sport bikes have poor acceleration. It's only a rumor though, it's really up to the rider and again the bike set up.

He has to go with whichever bike is more comfy to him. You can read reviews, stats, and specs all day. those are usually written by the lab monkeys and pyrex nerds who engineered the technology. All those numbers are thrown out the window when the rubber hits the pavement. A bike can be broken in poorly and never perform up to it's expectations. But the same bike can be broken in high and be a beast.

If you are going used, it's all about the previous owners maintenance habits. If you are going new, it's all about how well you break in the motor and any mods you might like.

  4. jixxers are common squid bikes, people who have no idea what a sport bike is, and no idea how to ride one name jixer as their "bike of choice"

or they say "one of them ninja bikes"

most bikes from the same class in the same year will be comparable...

I prefer honda for comfort and reliability, but that's my preference...

gsxr's are nice bikes, and the aftermarket is HUGE, if he wants one, he should get one...
