What institutions are in charge of protecting our ecosystem?

Those with titles such as Environment Protection Agency.

Edit. PETA has nothing to do with protecting ecosystems.  They are an extremist animal rights group.  Greenpeace is about the same, except they take peoples money and use it to stop whaling.  If they cared about the ecosystem they put that leaking fuel sucking ship in dry dock.  And stop waste all that energy chasing people just trying to make a living.  Beside that neither of those qualify as an Institution.
