i want to learn how to play a second insturment. I play the alto saxophone now and it took me about 2-3 months to get pretty good at it. (played 1 hour in class then after school i played for about 30 minutes on school days) lessons are not a option so don;t suggest. what insturment will be easy for me to learn as a saxophone player? no drums becaus emy school band has too many.

is the clarinet easy?

  1. the banjo at my school every body likes it they always ask me to play them a song

  2. guitar is a great instrument to learn

  3. Considering that you play sax i would suggest the clarinet because the fingering is the same. I play it and have a lot of fun with it.

  4. learn how to play the guitar.

i would learn to play the piano a little bit too, it really is useful sometimes.

just don't try the flute..i hated it.

  5. flute fingerings are pretty much the same as the sax

  6. fingering for clarinet can be complicated but the mouth stuff should be pretty much the same.... but if you are a dude you get to hang out near the cute chicks in the flute section

  7. the fact that you play saxophone would make it easier to switch to clarinet. the embrouchure is different though, so check with your director or other players (that know what they're talking about). i have played clarinet for seven years, and i hate it. i'm really good, i beat fifty clarinet players in a regional competition, but i found it boring after learning everything i could without lessons. if you really want something fun to learn, learn baritone. brass totally rocks. no reeds, no spit. have fun in band though :)

  8. Piano
