What insurance is the best of 67 y/o unemployed woman in the USA? I tried to choose one and they all say you have to be younger then 65 y/o. And Medicare seems to be only covering drugs.

  1. Medicaid/Medicare is designed for you.  There are also state-sponsored programs designed to help.  At 67 yo, uninsured and unemployed, any coverage is going to be expensive.  Also, I've heard Starbucks provides good health insurance to its employees.  Maybe get a job with them?

  2. Do you have all of the medicare parts you are entitled to? Part A (hospital) Part B (doctor and outpatient services) and Part D (prescriptions)? If you do, you need to find an agent that works with seniors and their familes to help choose the best coverage based on your financial and medical needs. You may want to keep your medicare and get a supplement, or you may want to get a Medicare Advantage Plan. There are so many options, it can be overwhelming without a Pro.

Check out the medicare page and you will see what I mean. You can find out alot of info here about many different plans and benefits available.

  3. Medicare does not only cover drugs.  That is what you need, but you have to enroll.  Once in, also consider getting a Medicare supplement policy.
