if u are an entertainment freek get a big 250gb sata HDD , remember if u get a 500 GB HDD the computer may run a bit slower

What kind of laptop. there are two different types of laptop harddrives. IDE and SATA then i would tell you what and where the best is. Western Digital is the best brand. you can get a 120 gb for about 90$ now. IDE or SATA

thats dear! we have 500GB hard drives in UK for £50.

Actually there are three types of ATAPI or ATA 66 & 100 then 133 then the SATA

If your laptop is old it may not be able to take even the later ATA drives.  So you need to ask again with the full model number of your Laptop.

When you boot up does your machine show what version your BIOS is?
