  6. Here's a few but my links provide a lot more. Good luck.

Television; telephones; penicillin; antiseptics; lawnmowers; microwave ovens; marmalade; computer games; golf.

The Scots take enormous pride in the history of Scottish invention and discovery. There are many books devoted solely to the subject, as well as scores of websites listing Scottish inventions and discoveries with varying degrees of exhaustiveness and accuracy.

Even before the Industrial Revolution, Scots have been at the forefront of innovation and discovery across a wide range of spheres: the steam engine, the flush toilet the bicycle, tarmacadam roads, the telephone, television, the motion picture, penicillin, electromagnetics, radar, insulin and calculus are only a few of the most significant products of Scottish ingenuity.

  7. Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone and James Watt the steam engine.

  8. Haggis.

  9. You will have to work out for yourselves what Ben Doon and Phil McCafferty invented as Yahoo has a word filter.

  10. haggis

    kilts

    bagpipes

    Lorraine Kelly

  11. (Alexander Graham Bell didn't invent the telephone, he stole the patent as the actual inventor was too poor to afford it and died before he could manage it, kilts and haggis are roman and the first evidence of bagpipes is greek)

Elecrto-magnets, as far as I know, were developed by James Clerk Maxwell who also set the foundations for radios

Sir William Ramsey discovered the nobel gases

Joseph Lister was one of the first people to use antibiotics

Off of the top of my head you guys are also responsible for hypodermic needles, steam powered tricycles (which paved the way for motorbikes) beta-blockers and artificial kidneys

  12. glasgow kiss.

  13. Well, James Watt was Scottish and he perfected the steam engine.  That's pretty important.

  14. OK, somebody covered kilts, bagpipes, and haggis, and those are the most important!  Good luck!

  15. Further to previous answers;

Stan Laurel may not have invented slapstick, but he almost certainly invented the partner-act.

  16. Charles MacIntosh (1766-1843)

    Invented the raincoat

    Kirkpatrick MacMillan (1812-1878)

    Invented the bicycle

    John Boyd Dunlop (1840-1921)

    Invented the modern tyre
