What irons should i buy?

Question

I am a high handicap and am looking to buy a new set of irons with steel shafts. Have a budget on under £300 which translates to about $550.

Need a forgiving set, preferably 4-PW. suggestions?

Your best option would be the Callaway Big Bertha Irons.  They are visually appealing and right in that price range.  If you want for info on iron set values, go to Golf Digest's website or Golf Tips Magazine's website for more detailed info.  There are also great clubs in that price range from Nickent, Cobra, and even Cleveland.  Good luck!

price wise definatly clevlands . all stores have them for under three hundred canadian dollars  i think that would be 130 pounds . very forgiving and look good . since it is the right time of the year to buy hit them up for a dozen golf balls , this will leave you enough to purchase a 22 to 24 degree hi bird to old to make it to england but harrison is my middle name after the street my father grew up on in newcastle all 3 brothers made it to the top soccer league of the 20s and 30s

callaway is known for there forgiveness, but others manufacturers have been getting much better, so i would say the callaway bigberthas.

you will benefit from somethings with more offset and a widesoled cavity back, and get a regular flex until you start getting better, most people go in a shop and swing for the fences and get the higher swing speed and then only to realize you only swing about 80% on the course, well at least the better golfers do.

Everybody always says Callaway, but those clubs can only help you so much.  Sure they are more forgiving, but the cheaper ones have terrible workability and feel.  I would look at maybe the Cleveland TA 2 or CG2 tours, or maybe the Taylormade RAC's.  Those clubs will get you lower than almost all the callaways, with the exception of the X20 Forged Tours, but those are not even close to that price range.
