  1. 9

  2. It's 9 unless you have left something off. Why would someone argue over something soo simple?

  3. 14-3-2= 9

    :)

  4. Give up on namby-pamby math! It is most definitely 42.

  5. Subtract 14 from 3, then the remaining answer from 3.

  6. Err...9.

Not sure what there is to argue about over that!

  7. 9 and people need to get a life if they are arguing about this!!!!!

  8. It is 9 WHy are people arguing over that??

  9. 14-3=11

    11-2=9

    Answer is 9.

  10. it is one more than eight but it is one less than ten.

  11. The order of operations in mathematics:

Rule 1:    First perform any calculations inside parentheses.

Rule 2:    Next perform all multiplications and divisions, working from left to right.

Rule 3:    Lastly, perform all additions and subtractions, working from left to right.

So for this problem, work left to right.  14-3 = 11, 11-2=9

    The answer is 9

  12. The order of mathematic operations is:

P.E.M.D.A.S.- "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally", is a way to remember that order. The letters actually stand for, Parentheses-Exponents-Multiplication-Div... So, you go through and check for any parentheses, any exponents, any multiplying, any dividing, any adding, and lastly, any subtracting in the sentence. Since there is nothing but subtraction to do in that sentence, you simply go straight across from left to right, subtract 14-3 first, which is 11. Then 11-2=9.  In actuality, the proper way to write out that math sentence, in order to get that same answer, would be:

    (14-3)-2=.

  13. 9....no further comment.
