  1. It depends on the condition of the coin. If it is just your average circulated coin it would retail for about 25 cents. In uncirculated condition the price varies greatly so I would suggest you take it to a dealer and see what he or she says.

By the way no mint mark means that it was made in Philadelphia. Mint marks for Philadelphia were not added to coins till much later.

  2. As was said no mint mark struck at the Philadelphia mint. It was not until 1980 and after that the P was put on coins permanently except for cents. The 1964 nickel is not old enough to be a collectible in average circulated grades and only has a value in mint state with full steps. You probably found yours in change so in that case spend it. With a mintage of 1,024,672,000 it will not be a collectible in your life time. One thing about the 1964 nickel is the different tones it is found in. The mint never said anything but it sure looks like they experimented on the nickel that year.

  3. 5 cents.  That's not old enough or rare enough to be worth anything more.

  4. Well, if you get it certified as Mint State-65 with Full Steps by one of the major third party certification services, it would list (retail) at $55 with no mintmark or $500 with a "D". If it has not been preserved, I doubt if it would quite meet the standards for a Mint State-65 coin, however if it did, but did not have full steps on the reverse, it would catalog for 50-55 cents retail. Certification will cost you about $40.

  5. No mint mark, are you sure?  There should be a P or a D on the reverse side, between Monticello and the rim on the right side.  Maybe it is obscured by any rust or grime. If there is a mark, I'm sorry to say it is still worth 5 cents.

If there actually is no mark, it MAY be worth more.  Misprinted coins can range from under $10 to several thousand dollars in value.  Make SURE the date is 1964 though.  If you are really curious, do some research, post a question on a coin collector's website, or go to a rare coin shop, where you can get an estimate if it is really worth something.

    Hope this helped!
