I`m thining of going to America and bringing $3000 to spend,whats that in US dollars? If I stayed in a New York Apartment for 2 weeks do you think that would be enogh money?how mutch should I take? thanks.

Firstly be aware that the price shown on the news as the exchange rates is actually the TRADE exchange rate, the currency exchange rate is approx 4 cents less. On Wednesday the exchange rate was $0.90 making AU$3,000 US$2,700 the exchange rate is varying between around 85c to 92c of late but is sure to go down.

For 14 nights stay based on US$2,700 it would allow $192 per night which would definitly get some decent accomodation. Don't forget meals for 14 nights/15 days using aprox $10 for breakfast, $20 for lunch, $20 for snacks, $50 for dinner is an additional US$1,400. Then theres your spending money and airfares. I would be looking at saving $10,000 in order to be able to comfortably afford a trip away.

People mentioned its about 2800 USD.  Go to Hotels.com just look up the area in NY you want to stay in and it will tell you how much a night.  Then you can base your budget off of that

not enough thought about food???? you would most likely spend that money on the accessbond then what??!!? me thinks staying with friends would be cheaper, offer paying toward the grocery bill would be a big nice gesture in return

About 2,808.36 US Dollars (at today's rate). As for the New York apartment... sorry, I do not live there.
