What is 'Employment visa' in Dubai? Using this visa will I be able to bring my wife and Kid to Dubai?

I relocating to Dubai soon. My client company said they are going to process 'Employement Visa' for me. How long it will take normally to get the Employement visa and what is the validity of the visa? Can I bring my wife and kid using this visa? Thanks.

The laws are changing as of August 1st.  Depending on your nationality, you may be able to bring in your wife and child if you make 10,000dhs or more per month.  Laws are always changing to best to have your PRO officer at your new company check for you.

Employment visa is the type of visa you need if you want to work in the UAE "legally". Processing of employment visa usually takes 2 weeks but it depends from company to company if there will be no problem with the employment permit which is the first step actually. You can sponsor your wife and kid if your basic salary is 4000 without accommodation or 3000 with accommodation.
