  1. Most things that you think of as Aussie food would have originated in Britain but there's always musk lifesavers, Tim Tams and Lamingtons (invented in Queensland!! Go Queensland!). But like you said we are a cultural melting pot of cuisine which I personally think is great, we get the best of EVERYTHING!

  2. BBQ, Meat pies, Vegemite..

But as you said Australia is multicultural so all foods belong, from asian to greek to italian to lebanese.

  3. a bloody great bbq mate

    and meat pies

    vegemite toast yummo

  4. When I think of Australian food I think of really fresh ingredients - lamb, seafood, lean meats etc - with lots of Asian and Mediterranean influences.

I love a lot of the native ingredients that are available now - lemon myrtle, wattle seeds, bush tomatoes, macadamia oil, bush dukkah etc..

  5. Good Aussie B-B-Q with steak and sausages and not forgetting the Prawns. We have the best seafood in the world along with the best steaks. Oh and don't forget the onions and beer.

  6. A kebab and a stubby

  7. Apparently - I heard somewhere that "curry pie" is actually an Aussie invention.

Not sure how true it is.

    Cheese to you.

  8. Meat pies, vegemite, anything you can cook on the barbie...

Who knows, I grew up having Indian one night, Chinese or Italian the next LOL.

  9. vegemite

    pavalova

    lammington

    anzac biscuts

and we make better hamburgers than anywhere else

u could call meat pies and sausage rolls Aussie but thats still kind of sapped of other countries

thats all i can think of atm

Edit: also all the aboriginals food like bogong moths, wicthety grubs, honey ants, ect

(i dont think i spelt any of that correctly)

  10. I'm not sure we have one, but Vegemite is pretty Australian.

    Hooray for multiculturalism!

  11. ehhh,,,kangaroo steak? I'm not an aussie,,,,
