  1. I believe once you reach 18 you should be mature. You are officially an adult, some officially on their own going to college. I do believe acting mature is acting your age, using good manners, respecting yourself and others. Being an adult does that to you and if you aren't acting like an adult when you're 18, then you're not acting mature.

  2. The definition of "mature" is "Of, relating to, or characteristic of full development, either mental or physical"

You act mature by being responsible and living up to or exceeding your expectations.

Personally, I think that someone is mature if they act 5 years older than they are.

  3. Maturity is having the chance to do something reckless, but thinking it over and choosing not to.

  4. i think maturity is a wisdom some have of knowing when and how to speak dress and act appropriately to the situation at hand, while still being comfortable, confident and themselves

  5. "Acting mature" only refers to a modicum of behaviour that is acceptable to people that we are not into intimate contact with. As such husband and wife f**t in each others presence, but would not do so at the restaurant, Fathers give goofy faces to their babies, but would not do so in a board meeting - (Hence the saying John does not act his age!! - unless John is intimate and overtly familar with his colleagues - then he can act "Immature" all he wants in the board room" This also applys to roles that we all subscribe to. If a teacher falls for her/his student - outside of the remit of her/his  responsibilities, they are immature. Regardless of age differences. (If the same teacher falls for a similarly aged person outside the school - LEGALLY) then she/he is mature enough to make a decision about a consensual relationship. GOT THE POINT?
