  1. If you have to solve for the x, this is the answer...

    5(x-10) + 3(x+3)

    5x - 50 + 3x + 9

    8x - 41

    8x = 41

    x = 41/8

    10 points please...

  2. okay you half to multiply first.   5(x-10) + 3 (x+3) = 5x - 50 + 3x + 9

    now you half to combine like terms.   5x + 3x = 8x  and -50 + 9 = -41

    so your answer is 8x - 41

  3. first of all you expand the formula.

    1.5x-50+3x+9         if you don't know how to expand you take the number outside the bracket and times it with each letter or number.

    2.8x-41 Now this is the tricky bit. You add the same numbers with the same numbers so 5x+3x is 8x. Now since its -50+9 the answer will be -41 because a two different symbols means you take away it which means getting it towards 0.

  4. When answering a problem with parenthesis always do the parenthesis  first.

    5(x-10) you would do first, and you multiply the number outside the parenthesis with the numbers/ factors inside the parenthesis.

    5(x-10)=

    5x -50 is the first part.

    The - in front of the 10 means it will be a negative number.

    +3(x+3)=

    3x+9

    now put the two parts together

    5x -50 + 3x+9=

    add the common together. The x's are common and the numbers are common.

    5x+ 3x =8x and -50+9= -41

    the answer is

    5(x-10) + 3(x +3)=

    8x -41

    The bigger number is a negative so you subtract the positive from the negative and get the proper answer which will be a negative number.

    Hope that helped

  5. it is nothing to be confused about, you see

       5(x-10) +3 (x+3)

    5(x-10) is actually 5multiply x - 5multiply negative10 same goes to the back numbers and remember to make sure when the number will change in to negative when multiply............. Good luck!!!!
