  1. Think of it as a 2 lane highway, 4 lanes and 16 lanes, the bigger the highway, more cars it can carry the same time.

It also determine how much memory it can address at a time. Basically, the bigger the better

  2. 32 bit and 64 bit refer to the number of bits used to access a memory location.  64bits will allow you to use a lot more RAM than 32 bits.  32bits are limited to about 4GB of RAM.  Even if you have a 64bit processor, you can still run 32bit programs (even using  a 64bit OS)

Basically if you get 64bit it will be useful to you for a longer amount of time (theoretically).

  3. Windows 3.1 was 16 bits

Windows 98 XP and Vista 32 bits

Now you can get Vista as a64 bit operating system

with 16 bits information was transferred around the computer 16 at a time

The same for 32 and 64 bits the more bits  the faster information travels

    Think of it this way

A Bus station can take 16 Buses at a time so the amount of passengers moved is limited to 16 buses

A Bus station which takes 32 Buses can move people quicker

so it is with computers the larger the Bus  the quicker info travels
