What is 65% of $399.99?

Ok well I've decided to by a Sidekick because my dad works T-mobile I get 65% off the purchase price so I'm just wondering how much the total would be

my gosh, how do we ever expect to understand life if we can't do the math?  1/2 or 50 % of the 399.99 (keep it simple, $400.00). 50% of 400 is 200.  the other 15 % for the full 65%  (50% + 15%=65%)is really 30.   (50%=200, 15%=30). is all that clear???? actually it 399.99X .65 =  $259.9935.   (the .65 is 65 % of 100%)now we have the 65%, subtract that from the 399.99= 139.9965 which is your cost.. what you do about the .0065 cents is part of brewsters millions.  who pays the tax, turn-on fees, and all the other money requirements?

65% 0f $399.99 is $259.99 thats $260 off ummm $400 - $260 is 140 then you have to pay $140 oh don't belive my answer here is the link how I found the answer:

399.99-259.99=140

65% of that is about $260.  That mean you pay approximately $140 dollars!  What a great deal!

$260.....my God dude, where did you go to school? You dont know how to do a simple percentage conversion? Or even how to do it on a calculator? Ok, it goes like this....a percent is a part of ONE HUNDRED. 65% is 65 parts of 100 parts....with me so far? So, $399.99 is really only one cent less than $400, ok? So, since your trying to find out how much 65% of $400 is, it is $65 to each $100,,,cool? So then you multiply 4 (for the $400) times 65 (for the 65%) and you get  $260. Now, go to your school, fire your teacher, and get someone to teach you fourth grade math.....Jesus Christ, is our country's education system really in this bad of shape??
