I need to cut a piece of wood in inches and it has to be EXACTLY 90 cm. However a regular tape measure doesn't have the same marks on it, is there any way to do this? (correct)

  1. 35.4 inches

  2. 35.43 inches.

Call  it 35 7\16' inches, on the tape measure.

There is 2.54 cm in a inch BTY.

Edit: 45 cm in inches is 17.7165 inches.

17 11\16 would be about as close as you could get on a tape measure.

17 23\32 is almost dead on.

    Second Edit:

17 23\32 may not be an increment on the tape, but if you mark your board between 17 11\16 and 17 3/4, you'll be as close as you can get to 45 cm.

You'll be accurate within the thickness of your pencil mark. You're not getting any closer than that.

  3. Try basic math - 2.54 cm per inch or 90/2.54 = 35.433"

    This is very close to 35 7/16" (7/16 = .4375)

  4. 90 cm is 35.43309" and 45 cm is 17.716545"
