What is A California Motorcyle?

My husband bought a new motorcycle its a 1996 california motorcyle. We dont know much about it and cant find a whole lot of information out about it. But it is really pretty and sounds like a harley.

never heard of them...but a california motorcycle might mean it has extra emmision work done to it because of their stricter laws

California has the strictest noise and emissions laws.

To be sold in Calif, it has to meet CARB (California Air Resources Board) standards.

Years ago, Harley had their California model (pipes and mufflers setup), and their "49 state" model.

If you look at the Harley web site, you'll see that the pricing has a $200 "California Emissions" charge, only on "California" models.

it was built and chopped in a California Harley Davidson Shop~!!!

It's a MotoGuzzi cruiser. Yes, like a Harley- agricultural, old tech, slow, heavy. Does turn and stop better than a Harley.

Founded in 1996 By Don Nofrey and his Dad, they started out as "Beach City Motorcycles," in Santa Cruz Ca. as a small aftermarket shop, and a support shop for Rey Sotelo's ''South County Motorcycles", selling the custom bikes he built. As South county turned into "California Motorcycle Co.", and was later bought by "Indian Motorcycle Co. its a custom motorcycle your husband bought. hope this helps. Edward

guess that would be any bike that is in the wacky state of california. woooo wooooo! so, i guess if you ride one to florida, it is a florida bike and so on. eh?
