  1. ADSL or Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line works through your POTS or Plain Old Telephone Service.  Through your telephone line you receive various information.  DSL service, caller ID, and call waiting.  This is all sorted out through various filters.  The reason it can still be transmitted into your phone jack without replacing wire is because of the compression, everything is digital now where before it was all analog.

  2. Its a modem you plug in to your phone line

  3. www.google.com

  4. ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) is a technology for transmitting digital information at a high bandwidth on existing phone lines to homes and businesses.

  5. ADSL stands for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line. It is a form of DSL, a data communications technology that enables faster data transmission over copper telephone lines than a conventional voiceband modem can provide. It does this by utilizing frequencies that are not used by a voice telephone call. A splitter - or microfilter - allows a single telephone connection to be used for both ADSL service and voice calls at the same time. Because phone lines vary in quality and were not originally engineered with DSL in mind, it can generally only be used over short distances, typically less than 4km[1].
