  1. Do you mean ATP? This is a molecule called adenosine triphosphate, made of adenine, ribose and three phosphate groups. The bonds between the phosphate groups store a lot of energy, which is released when the group is removed. It provides our cells with energy to perform their functions. In respiration, glucose is converted to the end products, and the energy released is stored in ATP. In photosynthesis, some ATP is made purely through the activation by sunlight. The energy is trapped and stored for future use.
