What is AWOS?

I'm studying in Taiwan and my someone told me that I will be classed as AWOS if I don't return to S'pore on time to serve the army. What does that mean? Tell me if any of u have the idea. Thanks.

i believe AWOL stands for "absent while on leave" meaning you're in the army and don't back from a leave
