  1. greatness

  2. Alexander grand bell

  3. His first name was "Alexander"

His last name was "III (3th)"

And his surname "of Macedonia" (because he was king of Macedonia)

Full name: Alexander III of Macedonia

  4. Alexander the Great (Greek: Αλέξανδρος ο Μέγας or Μέγας Aλέξανδρος, Megas Alexandros; July 20 356 BC – June 10 323 BC), also known as Alexander III of Macedon (Greek: Αλέξανδρος Γ' ο Μακεδών) was an ancient Greek king (basileus) of Macedon (336–323 BC). He was one of the most successful military commanders in history, and was undefeated in battle. By the time of his death, he had conquered most of the world known to the ancient Greeks.

The use of an Anglicised name is not unusual in translation. Megas becomes great and Alexandros becomes Alexander, Similarly the Holy Roman Emporer, the French king Charles the Great was known as Carolus Magnus in his time. We call him Charles. Many other examples are easily found, John from Johann, Peter from Petros Paul from Pavlos and so on.

  5. Ancient Greeks didn't have last names. They were distinguished by their father's name, so Alexander would be Alexandros Filippou, or by their specific area of provenance (Like Thales o Milesios, who was from Milet, Simonides o Keios, from Kea, etc.), so Alexandros o Makedon (from the Greek kingdom of Macedonia).

  6. Alex the homo.

  7. Alexander Jenkins.

  8. Alexander III of Macedon

    Megas Alexandros

there are a few other names as well.

  9. Great lol

  10. Actually his name is Alexandros and not Alexander or (hilarious ) ALeksandar as some say.....

ALexander is just the english version of his name

As far as the surname ancient Greeks hadn't a surname (aristotele, spcrates, plato, etc) just sometimes the had the definition of which place they were came from,

    have a look here :)

  11. You should be able to find the answer in the Roman/Egyptian history. I knew that answer but so long ago, I just cant remember. If my memory serves me right, his brother was commander of the eastern legions. But I might be wrong. It's been so long ago I learned of the Roman Empire !
