  1. What a dummy please post a link!

  2. The American Dream!

You can accomplish anything you want if you are willing to work hard.

Democrats think that the government should provide for you and for those who are too successful we should have a glass ceiling to keep them under the system.  If you are too "rich" we are going to take your money and redistribute it to the poor. So, if Obama wins we have to tell our children don't aim to make more than $250,001 because if you do the government will take 40% or 50% of it and you'll end up giving back at $100,000 - $125,000.

  4. Who knows anymore?  America was about preserving personal freedoms, but over the 200+ years of our history, those freedoms have been chipped away.

  5. America is about the freedom.

It is founded on the principle of what is now called social liberalism.

"branch of liberalism which emphasizes individual rights and equal opportunity for all citizens.[6] For social liberals, the lack of education, health, or employment, is seen as as big a threat to individual freedom as state compulsion and coercion. Additionally, like other liberals, social liberals support (with qualifications) free markets, private entrepreneurship, and a small state."

  6. Fundamentally, The Obama supporter is right (and though I would qualify it, so are you).

America had its beginnings in many frustrated groups who were sick of persecution because of their beliefs or politics. We all (unless we happen to be descended from Native Americans) are immigrants, and we should continue to welcome them into our country in gratitude for the new life and chance that our forebears had.

Free will is definitely an important American concept, as well as the free market (although the free market needs to be regulated remembering that those items that one cannot survive without should never be subjected to the free market).

America is about a lot of things, not just one or two.

  7. The wild, wild, west -- freedom.

You had it right.  Without freedom, no immigrants would come.

  8. america is about many things to many different people.  The basic is freedom, and opportunity.  But each person has there own personal beliefs on what america is about to them, and the great thing about america is the country as a whole allows that type of thought, and encourages it, and doesn't not enforce ones beliefs on one another.
