  1. I am afraid this isn't a disease, it is just one of the medical ways of saying ' Joint pain.'

  2. if you dont know what it is, how do you know you might have it??

  3. Hi,

Athralgia usually coexists with other medical conditions as you suggested arthritis.  I have an autoimmune disease vasculitis and I get this.  Some days I just ache like I am getting the flu.  Sometimes its a warning to me that I am going into a flare and to take extra care of myself.

There is no test for athralgia but sometimes Drs will test your sed rate among other things to see if there is anything inflammatory going on.

Has your Dr referred you to a rhuematologist?  This is a good start if you need further investigation.
