  1. Australia's characteristics are extremely diverse.  Very much like America.  From sandy beaches on the shore to desert at the interior.  Rain forests and coral reefs, (The Great Barrier Reef),  Mountains, cities, towns.  Varied climates, from tropical to very very cold.  Most of the arable soil is within about 250kms from the coast line, and the climate allows for almost any crop you care to plant.  Just find the right place.  Some places if you plant a fence post it will grow, and others nothing will ever grow.  Main exports are coal, sheep, beef and wheat. Japan being the biggest customer. 90% of the population live in less that 20% of the country.  Most of the trees are various kinds of eucalypts.

Google could provide much more information.

    Thanks for the question.
