  1. Is this question related to the pulmonary system?  If so, it stands for "Body Temperature and Pressure Saturated".  The conditions of a spirometer are different from the human body, of course, so  you have to compensate for that or else the volumes that you measure from your spirogram will be off.  So, when you get your raw data from your spirogram, you multiply them each by 1.1 (the BTPS) and that gets you a better estimate of your lung volumes.
