The Memorandum of Agreement that should pave the way to the creation of the Bangsamoro Judicial Entity or BJE, what would practically be an expansion of the existing Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao or ARMM, is yet to be signed by the parties concerned but the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Hermogenes Esperon Jr. is already expressing some pre-peace process reservation by his outright claims of the Government’s position of kowtowing with Muslim autonomy by such preemptive to peace talks political positioning.

Secession is definitely not the agenda on the talks but seems an issue for the Government as the statements of its representatives keeps harping on. The Islamic group are up for genuine autonomy as it did with the ARMM but publicly disclosing such thoughts of separatist intention reflects on the Governments less than sincere intention of pushing for genuine peaceful coexistence of Muslims and Christians down south of the archipelago.
