  1. Yep, its a very yummy fish

  2. Of course a Barracude is a fish. IT has razor sharp teeth so if you hook one you should just cut the line. Barracuda's won't bother you in the water if you are swimming like sharks can.

  3. long skinny fish with very long sharp teeth lives in tropical waters usually a dark color

  4. It is a saltwater fish found both inshore and offshore in any temperate, or tropical sea or ocean.  During the summer they can be bothersome for folks fishing, they are notorious for leaving the fisherman with just the head of a fish.  They are edible, and small ones are safe, I wouldn't eat a large one simply because they do spend alot of time around coral and they are an appex predator, as a result toxins build up in them that can cause a human to get very sick and can even cause death.

  9. A barracuda is a fish that lives in salt water. It's prized by many for their fighting and leaping abilities. Although not consumed by many anglers for fear of ciguatera poisoning, smaller species under 5 pounds is usually okay to eat. They have a powerful burst of speed at the initial strike and many anglers like to use top water baits to watch the explosive strikes.  Barracuda flesh is prized as bait for shark anglers because of the strong scent they exude.

A barracudas teeth are like scissors in which they slice into a bait rather than grab onto them, that's why anglers often have only half a fish on the line. They usually strike at the mid-body thru the  tail section to disable the fish, eat what they have and come back for the rest.

There are several types of barracudas with the largest being the "great barracuda."  Many divers and swimmers have fallen victim to attacks by barracudas but it's mainly the persons fault. One should never wear jewelry or have any shiny objects on their person while swimming in known barracuda waters. Other times it's just that the fish is unable to stop it's attack on the bait fish and ends up hitting you instead. Waders get bumped alot because small baitfish follow the angler kicking up sand, these are usually from smaller, inexperienced barracuda.

A barracuda will change color from a bright silver to a dark gray as a warning and it's letting you know that he see's you and it wants you to back off.

Lures for barracudas would be tube lures made of colored surgical tubing or you can use top water baits in mullet colors. Live baits and dead baits also work for these fish. Use a steel leader because these fish are capable of tearing through monofilament easily. That's all I can think of right now, I'm sure there's more I forgot...maybe next time.~Good luck catchin'.
