I have always used just dryer sheets because I hate having to watch for the rinse cycle to add the liquid softner. But which is really better?

  1. I use both. This way i am covered if I hang my clothes out to dry on the line or if i decide to use the drier. I sometimes hang out my Jeans but dry my shirts in the dryer. I do not notice a difference.

  2. ~~I guess it's a preference thing really. I heard (and don't know if it's true) the dryer sheets coat a dryer drum and can mess up the sensor for automatic set drying. I have always used liquid because it makes my clothes feel so soft and the scent stays in so much longer. When I tried dryer sheets I didn't feel like our clothes were as soft and often times I would have static cling. So I went back to liquid.~~

  3. It is true that dryer sheets cause a film to collect on dryer filters, eventually causing the dryer to overheat  if you do not scrub the film off occasionally.  I personally like liquid because it makes the clothes softer and smell better.

  4. Liquid works better. Dryer sheet became popular because the old washers didn't have a place to add liquid fabric softer at the beginning of a wash cycle.  You had to wait around and add it at the rinse cycle. If you missed it, you have  to run the rinse cycle again and add it then . Very annoying. At the time dryer sheets were more convenient because you didn't have to keep and eye on the washer all the time.

  5. they say dryer sheets  has a film on it that covers your lint screen , so I use the liquid I think it smells better too .

  6. I use the downy ball so I don't have to chase the rinse cycle but I think that liquid softner is the best because it keeps your clothes smelling fresher longer and makes them much softer!

  7. I like the liquid because I don't have to throw away a dryer sheet (which often makes it to the folding stage or later); it's one less thing to put in a landfill.  But to each his own.

  8. both
