What is Bleach about?

I finished Tokyo Mew Mew and i'm thinking of watching the anime Bleach. and anyone here give a description of the show please? and any other suggestions for anime's would be great too. thank u!! Jen

Bleach is really good. SHORT DESCRIPTION: Bleach revolves around a boy named ichigo kurosaki who has always had the ability to see ghost.But after meeting rukia kuchiki,soul reaper he realizes that the ghost that he see are actually hollow ( spirits of people who had  died and have some grudge or wanted revenge so they come back to the human world).After meeting rukia his family is attacked by one of these creatures and so and rukia is badly injured and can't protect them so she gives some of her power to ichigo but he drains nearly all of it.So now he is a substitute soul reaper and completes her orders since she is now powerless. The soul society finds out that rukia has given ichigo some of her powers and thus counts it as a crime and sentences her.Ichigo fights the hollow along with other soul reapers to try and save rukia.Other people obtain the soul reaper powers also. Will ichigo survive the immense battles? Kurosaki Ichigo is not a regular 15 year old, because he has always had the ability to see spirits and ghosts. One day, a female Shinigami (God of Death) named Kuchiki Rukia appears before him, hunting for an evil spirit. But during the confrontation, the Shinigami's powers are transfered to Ichigo. Thus begins the adventures of Ichigo and Rukia and their mission to herd Hollows (fallen spirits) as well as confronting other spiritual beings.

Bleach is about souls/spirits of those who died,going to heaven. Humans that are alive cannot see souls/spirits nor shinigami. shinigami means "death god" in japanese. shinigami can move from the soul society (aka heaven) back to the human world. Hollows are bad spirits that can take souls/spirits i think to h**l. Hollows look like giant beasts with a big whole in their chest (where their heart should be). Shinigami look like humans and have gigias (separate body kind of things so that they can be seen by humans). they can switch between their gigia to their original form (black/white uniform). its hard to explain, but its like how life and death work. Shinigami stop hollows from taking souls by killing them using their unique Zanpaktou (sword/katana). Souls start out with a long chain attached to their chest, and it slowly shortens up. when the chain is gone, the soul becomes a hollow...its kinda confusing at first, but one of the best animes eva!

The main character, Ichigo (in tokyo mew mew, she was a female ichigo) Kurosaki. hes a 15 year old in high school, but he can see souls (like someone who can see ghosts).One time he sees a shinigami and he becomes one when a hollow attacks his house/family. the shinigami that met him, Rukia, thrusts her Zanpaktou into his chest and Ichigo gets the power of a shinigami.....he is refered to as a "substitute" shinigami.

I love Bleach...but i dunno why Bleach is called Bleach....its not really the type of romantic comedy anime like Tokyo Mew Mew. its more like the action and adventure. there is some blood, but overall, Bleach is a wonderful anime.....

It's a great anime! you should really watch it!

It's about a boy called Ichigo Kurosaki who can see spirits. Not everyone could see spirits, only people with high spiritual energy and Ichigo is known for having really high spiritual energy.

One day he meets a girl called Rukia Kuchiki who claims herself to be a Shinigami (Death God). Shinigamis have to help spirits move on, there are 2 types of spirits: Pluses and hollows (I don't want to go in details) but pluses are just your average type of souls and hollows are souls that couldn't pass on or spirits that were eaten by other hollows.

While explaining everything to Ichigo, a hollow attacks his house and injures his 2 sisters. Rukia gets hurt in the process of saving Ichigo's sisters and the only way to save them was to give some of her powers to Ichigo (by stabbing him with her Zanpuktoh(katana) ). Ichigo accepts and instead of some of Rukia's powers, all of her powers go to Ichigo making him a Shinigami. Ichigo easily defeats the hollow and his adventure as a Shinigami starts.

I really recommend it, it's awesome and the series is ongoing.
