  1. Clandestine Law Enforcement Tactical Services

  2. California Law Enforcement Telecommunication System=

has info on vehicle thefts and other law enforcement info.

JAWS= Jaws of life used by fire rescue to cut the doors or roof off of a car to pull a victim out.

These things will be fully explained to you in dispatch, you will also have written information on all of this, and you will have reviews in your training as an explorer.  when you are in the patrol car with the officer and the radio is going 90 miles an hour you will understand why codes are used instead of verbaly saying what the call is for instance it is quicker to say and understand 240-242 than assualt and battery.

enjoy your ride along, and welcome to the LEO world

  3. CLETS is the state ex: (California starts with c) law enforcement telecommunications system. It's statewide. The NLETS is the National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System. It's what we use when we run someone on the NCIC (National Crime Information Center) computer. Jaws is like the jaws of life they use to extricate people from their wrecked vehicles when there's no other means of getting them out.
