What is COLD CALLING? if you are in sales..?

It is calling or personally visiting a potential new customer to try to make a sale.  It's called "cold" because there hasn't been any previous contact or relationship set up with this customer before.  You have to go in "cold" and make the sale.

cold calling is when you call someone you have never met and offer your services. Before I was successful I use to cold call. I called looking for a guy and his wife ripped me a new one becasue he had just passed away.
