What is Campagne? Is it a part of southern France or something else?

Yes, I did mean campagne and not champagne. Thank you for your answers I understand it means the countryside. Thank you.

  1. Well yes Campagne is the French for Countryside.

    Champagne is as stated above a wine (sparkling) but also a region, where the wine comes from.. located east / north east of Paris.


  2. La campagne is French for the countryside.

  3. It translates as, countryside, or a rural area. Not specific to any particular part of France.

    Do not get confused with Champagne which is a type of wine.
