Cash trades should be accompanied with full amount of cash in your bank account.  This is the common type of trade in which stocks are purchased for delivery and usually will be for investments.

With Margin trades, your stock broker will allow you to trade in certain stocks with amount upto 4 to 5 times of the actual amount what you have in your bank account.  This type of trade is particularly useful in case of short term and intra day trades.

Margin: is the profit. (or in futures market, when you buy futures you have to pay fraction of the money only, that is called margin
