  1. it spoiled their olympics.

  2. they're just sitting on their hands lapping all this up.

they don't have to do a thing or even comment on it. when both your enemy's are at each others throats then your the only winner.

  3. Almost exactly what the US did in 1939 - keeping well out of it and making money by supplying one side - only not with strategic stuff - they are far too canny for that!

  4. To blame Georgia for this situation would be like blaming the smallest kid in kindergarten for being beat up by high school quarterback.

Wanted to put it in words you all might understand.

  5. China too has problems in the region. Particularly in Tibet and Xianjiang area.

They too will be involved in the broader regional conflict centered around Iran that is currently threatening to unfold.

  6. I'm sure they will be on the USA's side; we do too much business together. But who knows? Georgia, the US's ally was definitely in the wrong, and I don't know if anybody really wants to do battle with Russia.

  7. For 'Lady' -

Yes it was Russia that was holding Georgia's arm to attack S.O. Of course Georgia's big brother US didn't encourage Georgians. Look you punch I'm right behind you. Of course Georgia wasn't trying to hustle Russia well loved toy.

Openly China has taken no stance. Privately there is no doubt China is completely in par with Russia. You see no initiatives being taken with China, for obvious reasons. China and Russia have always backed each other unconditionally.

Chinese don't want any focus taken away from their glory ie Olympics. However you will certainly see China's stance after the Olympics. China does not have close alliance with US and does not support US actions over Iran.

Behind the scenes probably a lot going on between China and Russia.
